We are on our 11th day of the prayer and fasting journey together, we hope your are all in good strength and resting in the love of Christ. Today, we have a great devotional from Heather Fitzgerald she and her family are passionate about freeing children in Cambodia.
Day 11: Purity
“It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.”
In Luke 17:2 we are reminded of the value that God places on children. To learn about the child sex-slave industry is to awaken to the horrors of how far this world has fallen. We cannot look the other way while children of all ages are sold by their family into the world of sex for money. In Cambodia a minimum of 55,000 children are trapped in this perversion. Forced against their will, mistreated and alone, they lose their innocence and never know the love of a family. They are preyed upon, raped, used up, and considered disposable.
Believers are instructed to, “rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter,” (Proverbs 24:11) but how can we intervene from our corner of the world? First, know that the sex-slave industry is everywhere. Then, become proactive. Pray for God to move. Realize that having this information means you are now accountable and God wants to use you in some way to be a part of the solution. There are many organizations that are an icon click away from getting you connected and involved.
“If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.”
“The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens . . . He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.”
Psalms 113:4, 7-8
Prayer: Father, show me how to make a real and lasting change in the world. Bring freedom to the children in Cambodia and through out Asia. Let them know your love, and help me to do my part to bring freedom to children.
